11th Annual Shadow Buddies Shoot-Out

Dear Community Partners,

The Shadow Buddies Foundation is excited to announce that our 11th Annual Shadow Buddies “Shoot for the Kids” event is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, Kansas.

Launched in 2016, the “Shoot for the Kids” a clay target event is one of the most thrilling events put on by the Shadow Buddies Foundation. Our goal is to raise $100,000 that will support over 4,300 medically challenged children battling long-term conditions in our community. The funds raised will provide “Courage Capes - Capes for Kids” a child sized Superhero cape and mask which allows them to do play therapy and be a Hero! They also receive a Superhero Shadow Buddy to be by their side while going through treatment.

Our 11th Annual Shadow Buddies Shoot for the Kids will again offer a Morning Flight and an Afternoon Flight. We will host 18 Teams per Flight and are thrilled to enjoy a fun filled day of competitive clay target shooting with four Team Members on a Team. All participants will enjoy complementary food, drinks, snacks, and prizes. We will host a silent auction and raffle for each session.

Once again, we are honored to have our founding chairman John Almeida with MedDevelopment, host this event, along with his chairmen, Chris Evans with Evardy, and Jason Piper with AdventHealth. We are grateful for the support from our community and know that it will be an exciting day! We have attached both the Team Registration and Team Member information for the event. You need to indicate which Flight your Team will be participating in, and Flight selection will be on a first come first serve basis. Each year this event sells out so we encourage you to get your registration in soon.
